I was going to start this blog by drawing a complicated wheel with your code in the center and the different spokes of the wheel representing different elements of fitness…
But, why would I “recreate the wheel”, when we already have established a hierarchy of fitness here:
Then I got to thinking….
We need another level.
Yes, your mindset is important and will determine your success, but mindset needs direction, it needs guidance, it needs a code.
ENTER:
Your code comprises your being.
Because when you are aligned with your code:
- You live your values.
- You chase your goals.
- You take relentless action on your goals everyday.
If this is not how you feel right now with your health and fitness, you need to look at your values, your goals and see if they are aligned.
And let’s be honest, these are just words on a page if you don’t understand what a value is or what your values are.
A value… It’s something to live for. Something to stand for. And something that drives your behaviour.
For me living a health and fitness lifestyle is aligned with my values, so it is easy to do things that will increase my health and fitness.
You may or may not be the same.
But you can increase your success when you apply the 3D’s
- Desire
- Dedication
- Discipline
Desire being the currency of your action. If it matters to you, you will do it.
Dedication being you do what you said you would do despite how you feel and your mood at the time. (Like those times when you don’t feel like working out at bootcamp, but you do anyway).
Discipline being that you never go through the motions.
So you can see if your values are aligned with your goals how it will be easier…
- Your desire will drive your actions.
- Your dedication will keep you consistent despite your internal or external environment.
- Your discipline will make you get the most out of every action.
We are all different. What matters most to you?
Now go after it with desire, dedication, and discipline.
