The thoughts inside of your mind will literally determine the outcome of your results regardless of which Langley gym you attend…
And it’s upsetting because often – people tell me how they’re struggling and things aren’t working for them, and how it’s not going the way they anticipated.
You know, the way I see it, it’s simple.
What you have is the product of your expectations.
You get what you expect.
And regardless, of what you say, it’s what you think that counts…
- DO YOU THINK OF YOURSELF AS A PERSON WHO IS FIT?
- DO YOU THINK OF YOURSELF OF A HEALTH AND FITNESS PERSON?
- DO YOU THINK OF YOURSELF AS A PERSON WHO CAN GET RESULTS?
- DO YOU THINK YOU LIVE A FIT LIFESTYLE?
You should. Because you and me, we do the same workouts. And many of your BEFIT performance coaches do too… And we think of ourselves as health and fitness people (disregarding the fact that we actually work in the fitness industry here, but the point is, if our lifestyles are similar, what’s the difference?)
It just all starts with your mindset.
And you can’t build that pyramid to the height of your choosing without a rock solid foundation of a mindset that believes in you.
So if you’re someone with those late night thoughts that penetrate your mind, the ones that keep you tossing and turning with worry… angst… anxiety…
The ones that will keep you wondering “what’s around the corner”…
HOPING for success but expecting failure…
Then please do yourself a favour and accept the following phrase:
AWARENESS precedes CHANGE.
And if you are aware that you are doing this, you have the power to take action and put a stop to it.
Because it’s a messed up cycle and each time one of those seeds of doubt is planted in your mind, it can strengthen and gain traction, and before you know it, the worry can become too much.
It builds to pressure, more stress, more anxiety.
Let’s not make our lifestyle stressful. Possibly one of the things we enjoy!?
We have enough of that in our lives.
Fitness, nutrition, and the results…. it doesn’t have to be hard, it doesn’t have to be a depressing uphill challenge…
Just an incremental process. A continuum…
A continuum is a straight line with 2 points on it.
On the far left (A) you have a true beginner with no healthy habits, has never worked out a day in their life with lots of stress, and doesn’t believe in themselves.
On the far right (B) is someone who is one of the fittest people in the world. Works out consistently, is diligent with nutrition, stress reduction, doesn’t succumb to instant gratification, believes in themselves and has the results to prove it.
It will take time to go from (A) to (B), and it definitely is not going to happen overnight or in 12 weeks with 6 pack abs…
Rather, it’s more a process of ingraining a love for great healthy food and fitness and not hating what you are doing. You are making the incremental changes at a pace that works for you and at a pace that doesn’t stress you out as you get integrated into a healthier lifestyle.
And this is best achieved with 1 habit at a time.
So expect to do the work and expect to get the results. Be aware of your surroundings, your environment, what you are putting in your mouth, and if you are moving in the right direction.
As humans, we have a way of thinking we are eating better than we actually are, or thinking we are getting away with those few extra cheats.
Unfortunately, they always catch up to us.
And the degree of your DESIRE for your success and results has to be MORE IMPORTANT than those moments of instant gratification.
Committed to your success,
