THE WAY OUT – Break the Cycle of Yo-Yo Dieting

yo-yo diet, yo-yo dieting, weight loss mindset

results, langley weight loss, mindset

It’s easy to get excited for events or challenges eat great for 12 weeks, lose 20lbs, then gain it back when stress and life and vacations take hold… And then you do it again, and again, and every time you do this, it get’s harder to lose the weight, and easier to put it back on. It’s yo-yo dieting and it’s a real thing in our modern world of diets.

So I’m here today, because I really want to encourage you to relinquish the mindset of a 12 week challenge or diet or waiting until it’s over so you can eat ___________.

The unfortunate truth is if that is your mindset at this point of time, you will not be successful after your current diet ends.

Because you’ll always be looking for the out, you’ll always be waiting for it to be done, you’ll always be looking forward to when you can stop, and be less committed to your nutrition and fitness.

Yes, you can still have pizza, and beer, and whatever foods you enjoy. But this will be the minority, not the norm.

And you have to learn how your body responds to every food.
How many carbs you can eat on training days?
How many carbs can on non-training days? Probably not that many…
How much of a refuel meal can you have on Saturday and still be making progress?
How can we hack this thing we call our body?

So I ask you, why wouldn’t you want to see how fit you can get? Why don’t you want to make this thing a lifestyle? Why do you torture yourself with these diets?

Why wouldn’t you want to know how you can manipulate it so you can eat the foods you enjoy 1 day a week or even 2?

Or going further…

Why wouldn’t you want to see how you can make it so those foods no longer hold any value to you and how you are no longer a slave to your emotions.

What I’m getting at…

> You’re never done striving for more.
> You’re never done working.
> You’re never done growing and learning.
> So stop looking for the way out.
> Stop looking forward to when it’s over and learn to enjoy the process.
> Focus on how you can improve in this facet of your life as it’s THE ONLY WAY OUT OF THIS YO-YO CYCLE YOU MAY HAVE BEEN LIVING.

Reach out if you need to talk. We all have ups and downs, let’s focus on moving up.

Committed to your success,
Josh Saunders, BS, CSCS
