This message is relevant to us all, because everyone possesses a different skillset when it pertains to the different aspects of our lives.
Some of us may have applied ourselves and put in the time and thoughtful practice in our business endeavours, our relationships, or other areas of our lives and that is where we have excelled.
And now we see ourselves wanting to take our health and fitness to the next level.
You may have already taken that 1st step through our gym doors, you may have taken 10 subsequent steps since, but now you need to take the next step.
>>> But you may be having trouble taking that next step.
>>> So we need to make it easier.
>>> A less intimidating next step.
So ask yourself, what are you ready for?
You may reminisce of the person you were in high school or college, so I want to remind you on this quote by Aristotle: “We are what we repeatedly do.”
(I believe in it so much that it’s been on the gym wall for years)…
And if you want to be that person again you have to put in the time and thoughtful practice to become that person again.
It takes hard work. But nothing is out of reach. Don’t limit yourself because of age, injury, or circumstance. You just need to take the next step in those domains… (Ask one of our personal trainers what you can do regularly to help).
Now, I believe you will be most successful working around other people with similar goals in a structured and professional environment. The association, access and accountability at Befit is the magic formula when it is underscored by your hard work.
We can lay everything out for you. We have worked with others in similar situations and with similar goals. All it takes for you is to take the next step and continue to do so.
But knowing and navigating that next step (as I alluded to earlier) is sometimes the biggest challenge of all.
That’s why this March, Befit will be integrating a framework for you to know the exact next step when it comes to your fitness. We’ll be providing you with a MAP (A visual Method of Athletic Progression), so that you can visually see where you currently are and what the next steps are to go from where you are to where you want to go. This will of course be done within the context of our workouts and guided by our excellent coaches.
In the spirit of the next step, this is the next step for Befit as a gym and a community. We’ve been innovating bootcamps since 2010 and while other gyms model what we do, it’s time for us to move another step ahead and continue to raise the ceiling in the quality and experience of what group fitness can be.
That’s what will be coming to Befit in March (and why you may have noticed 3 tv’s sitting in the corner of the gym).
In the meantime, I want to leave you with this:
If you want to get really good at anything in life, you have to prioritize it. You have to prioritize it like you prioritize your spouse, your kids, your career.
We all have the same 24 hours to shuffle around in our hectic days. I feel confident you can find 30 minutes to prep a meal to eat healthier or 55 minutes for a workout at least 3x/week.
And if all the thoughts and decision making makes you feel like you don’t know where to start, I would like you to think of the following statement:
- Ready
- Fire
- Aim
(No, that’s not a typo)
Take action without thinking and just move in a positive direction with belief!
Imperfect action always beats perfect inaction.
And when you’re ready we can show you the next step.
Committed to your success,
Josh Saunders, BS, CSCS
