This Saturday Bootcamp Effect took on the Rugged Maniac obstacle course in Cloverdale. It was an amazing event, experience, and all around rugged good time.
I would like to thank everyone who ran, supported, photographed and embodied the spirit of Bootcamp Effect with BE Rugged. I had an amazing time and judging from the pictures, this seemed to be the theme of the day.
Here is a list of 26, recapping the event and what you may have missed.
#1 – The sea of red dominated the landscape. We were after all the 2nd biggest team with 60 participants. Here’s a picture of us filtering into the 1st obstacle.
#2 – But wait, I forgot the team picture… We kind of just took over center stage here during the pullup competition because we had to of course get the team pic in before we set out on the course!
#3 – Speaking of pullup competition, here’s me taking the win for Team BE Rugged with 26 strict pullups (no kipping allowed)… Of course, with Bootcamp Effect members watching , you know I wasn’t going to let you guys down and not win.
#4 – Being able to do this in our own backyard in Cloverdale and having people cheer us on and offer up their time with photos was amazing. Loved the venue and the location. Hope it’s in the same place next year!
#5 – Shirt cutting …look at all those sleeveless shirts turned tank tops. Sometimes you just got to show a little more skin…
#6 – Face Painting – Was Russ the Ultimate Warrior? Check out the side by side shot!
pretty close…
#7 – Ah the 1st obstacle, or the obstacle that you have to jump over in order to start the race. Let’s take this time to appreciate the flair of these 2 individuals… Eddy Tack looking good as always as Santa Claus and Felix embodying the green headband with flying ninja.
#8 – Let’s not forget Mrs. Clause too!
Before ………………………………………………After………………………………………
And After… John is wearing the Santa Pants? …Doesn’t it paint a story?
#9 – Speaking of John – Here’s John winning the Stein Hoisting competition. Seriously, he didn’t budge an inch and his intimidation factor was thus known throughout the stein hoisting world!
#10 – Some more group poses before the race!
#11 – Warren going for a swim. Actually there was a lot of guys who went for a dip. I on the other hand preferred the “less wet” option.
#12 – Alicia doing her best “domo arigato mr roboto” – ya, that wasn’t a requirement đ
#13 – When you train so hard at bootcamp that going up and down stairs with 25 and 50lb sandbags really isn’t that hard. Someone suggested we take two bags! Here’s Team Bootcamp Effect dominating this obstacle!
#14 – Cue the voiceover movie guy voice…. “In a world covered by mud, one man fought through the resistance and carried us to victory. His name, was Tate.”
#15 – Now cue the song from Baywatch…”Some people stand in the darkness, afraid to step into the light. Some people…” As you can see… there was a ledge in that body of water.
#16 – And some people jumped.
#17 – While ninjas evaded obstacles.
#18 – And hills were climbed.
#19 – Laughs were had.
#20 – And rings were monkeyed…
#21 – Cargo nets were swarmed with BE’s.
#22 – Mud got in the ears! But nothing a bear crawl couldn’t fix!
#23 – But you always know, you can get by with a little help from your friends!
#24 – Even if it’s jumping over fire…
#25 – Or a sliding into water
#26 – Or hanging out after the race.
Thanks again to everyone that made it a memorable day! I look forward to doing it all over again with you next year.
Special thanks to Kim Morris for all the pictures. You can view more at http://photos.pass.us/bemaniacs
