This is part 6 of a 6 part interview series with the BEFIT personal trainers.
We developed this interview series so that you can learn more about the trainers who are having an impact on your health and fitness.
In this blog post, we’re chatting with BEFIT Performance Coach, Karen Lougheed.
LET’S GO…
1. What do you like doing in your spare time?
Shopping with my daughters (ages 18 and 16) would be at the top of my list!
2. What got you into personal training?
Working out has always been a part of my life in one way or another. Choosing to turn it into a career so I could help others was an easy and exciting decision.
3. What advice would you give to someone just starting out on their fitness journey?
Change one thing at a time. If you try to change everything all at once you will get overwhelmed. Don’t allow room for self sabotage. Set yourself up for success.
4. What are you currently working on to get better at right now? Could be education, personal development, fitness, nutrition….
I’m currently opening a new gym (with Josh). So I’ve been improving my business skills. Learning the ins and outs of importing international custom goods has been an exciting new experience!
5. What’s your favourite exercise?
Barbell hip extensions!! Booty booty booty booty booty booty….. haha
6. What is your biggest weakness?
Always putting others first. That doesn’t always leave me the time to take care of myself the way I know I should.
7. Favorite motivational quote?
“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.”
