What the heck does that mean?
No, it’s not about full body workouts with compound exercises…Although that does sound a lot like Langley’s best in health and fitness (as voted by the readers of the Langley Advance in 2012)..
The Compound Effect is what all super achievers realize.
That hard work and patience is the essence of success.
For example… If I gave you the choice of 10 million dollars today or $1 doubled every day over the next month, what would you choose? I think most people would take the instant gratification of the 10 million. And this is an analogy of what most people think when it pertains to their body and fitness results.
You want 10lbs today! Did it take 1 week to put those 10lbs on? Heck no! More than likely it took months even years!!!
Well, what if I told you this…that 1 dollar doubled everyday looks like…
$1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512,
1024, 2048, 4096, 8192, 16384, 32768, 65536, 131072, 262144, 524288
1048576, 2097152, 4194304, 8388608, 16777216, 33 mill, 67 mill, 134 mill, 268 mill, 536 million
Whoa, a lot happend in those last 10 days. That is the definition of the compound effect. Lay a foundation of solid effort day in day out, an amazing groundwork of fundamental exercise movement, healthy nutrition, and that quick 10lbs that you want to lose for Mexico turns into a year round hot bod.
The more I look at it, the more I figure this…
You’re at LEAST 1 month of hard work, protein and vegetables away from even beginning to see the changes you’re putting in right now.
What do I mean exactly?
Well, you know when you seem to be working out hard, blood, sweat and tears and never getting any further forward?
You are… You just can’t see it yet. And likely you won’t see it for another month at least!
That doesn’t mean you stop… That doesn’t mean you give in…
IT means you understand that today’s work isn’t always going to give you results today.
Heck, I’ll be honest it might EVEN take 3 months…
The curve is slow and steady at first… After that it’s like you strapped a jet pack to your body…
And this is day in day out effort and consistency in both exercise and nutrition. Not just 4 workouts in 1 week for 2 consecutive weeks!
And one other thing… A lot of you are getting this. And I appreciate everything you are doing. From pushing that sled for 40 mins to a 20 min burpee challenge to finding out who’s got the most apples and moxie on a plank… It’s a real pleasure to coach and see many of you become true fitness fanatics. And it shows in the amount of members working out daily…The last 3 days have been record setting with 135, 120, and 110 members through the door to workout! It’s nice to see all this motivating and writing finally to start to come together 😉 It just took a lil’ time.
BEtox your short term mindset, think long term, big picture results, you deserve it, and you can do it.
Consistency and commitment.
